Maxi Ring Ring

Maxi Ring Ring was invented by Pavel Yarykin and first introduced at the Ring-Ring Rally competition in September 2025.
This variation expands on the idea of the classic Ring Ring, but adds a new rule: for certain rows and columns, the length of the maximum continuous loop segment is specified.

This single change significantly reshapes the solving logic. The length constraints introduce new techniques and types of reasoning that did not exist in the original Ring Ring. As a result, the puzzle becomes more structured and analytical, while still preserving the elegance and visual clarity of the original format.

The concept of Min/Max Ring emerged from experiments with drawing various classical and rectangular rings, and was partially inspired by puzzles such as Shortest Segment and Maxi Loop. In the end, the Maxi direction turned out to be the most natural fit for the Ring Ring universe, and this variation has now become a full-fledged member of the Ring Ring family.

Rules

Draw few rectangular loops through the centers of unshaded cell so that every unshaded cell is used. The sides of different rectangles may intersect each other, but not turn at their intersections or otherwise overlap. Numbers outside the grid show the length of the longest line in the corresponding row/column.
