Named Ring Ring

Named Ring Ring is a variation of the classic Ring Ring puzzle, first introduced by Alexandra Nazarova in September 2025 as part of the Ring-Ring Rally contest.

Originally conceived as a “Ring by Numbers” concept, the variant used labels placed inside the grid to guide the placement and sizes of the rectangular loops. However, because these labels had no actual numeric meaning, the genre was eventually renamed Named Ring Ring to reflect its true, non-numeric nature.√
A key feature of this variant is that its labels can form words, symbols, or short messages, allowing the puzzle not only to be logically rich but also to hide small thematic or playful texts within its structure—a unique twist that gives the genre both charm and expressive potential.

Rules

Draw few rectangular loops through the centers of unshaded cell so that every unshaded cell is used. The sides of different rectangles may intersect each other, but not turn at their intersections or otherwise overlap. Only one rectangle can pass through a cell with letter/number and all letters/numbers at one rectangle should be the same. Also all the same letters/numbers should belong to a single rectangle.
