**Neighbour Areas** (originally *Nachbarn*) first appeared on the online puzzle platform *Puzzle Picnic*. The puzzle type was likely invented by Dutch puzzlemakers **Johan de Ruiter** or **Maarten Löffler**, both early contributors to the site who helped establish many of its original puzzle formats. Since its introduction, Neighbour Areas has remained one of the distinctive puzzle types associated with *Puzzle Picnic* and has occasionally appeared in other logic puzzle collections inspired by the platform’s creations.
Rules
Divide the diagram along the grid lines into regions of equal sizes. Each region must contain exactly one cell with a clue. The number indicates the number of neighbors of this region. Two regions are neighbors if they share an edge. If clue is a question mark then the number of neighbors is unknown.
