Expressway

Expressway is a loop-based logic puzzle invented by Anurag Sahay. It emerged from the author’s attempt to design loop logic driven by coded loop behavior, rather than relying primarily on local constraints.

Although the puzzle includes region-based elements, the core reasoning in most instances is global in nature, often requiring solvers to consider all cells of a given color across the entire grid. This shifts the focus from incremental, local deductions to broader structural analysis of the loop.

The first puzzles of this type were published on the author’s personal blog in 2022. Expressway stands out for its emphasis on whole-grid reasoning and for offering a fresh perspective on loop construction logic.

Rules

Draw a single non-intersecting loop in the grid that visits each bold region. Within every area, the loop visits all cells of one color and leaves all of the other.
